  Malakai Studios is committed to discovering strong, original talent for upcoming film, television, and streaming productions. We welcome performers who bring authenticity, range, professionalism, and a strong on-camera presence.

Our casting process is designed to identify talent through a structured multi-step review process. Please read all steps carefully before submitting.

All performers must begin with an online submission.

Required materials:

• Current headshot
• Acting résumé or relevant experience
• Demo reel, if available
• Self-tape audition, 1 to 2 minutes in length

  Self-tape should include:

• Your name
• Your age range
• Your location
• A short monologue or provided audition sides

Submissions may be accepted through the official Malakai Studios casting portal, approved casting platforms, or designated casting email addresses listed for specific projects.

Only selected applicants will move forward to the next stage.

Selected performers will be invited to a live virtual callback.

This stage is conducted over the internet using a video conferencing platform such as Zoom or a similar service. During this callback, performers may be asked to:

• Read live for the casting team
• Perform adjusted takes based on direction
• Participate in brief character discussions
• Join chemistry reads if needed

This step helps the casting team evaluate flexibility, timing, delivery, and overall fit for the role.

Only top candidates will advance.

Finalists may be invited to an in-person audition and screen test.

This stage is used to evaluate:

• On-camera performance
• Presence under professional lighting and audio conditions
• Direct ability
• Overall alignment with the production’s creative vision

  Screen tests may also include director review, producer review, and additional paired or ensemble reads depending on the production.

This is the final casting step before official selection is confirmed.

Selected finalists will be invited to participate in a table read with other cast members. This allows the production team to assess:

• Cast chemistry
• Ensemble performance
• Character interaction
• Tone, rhythm, and pacing within scenes

  The table read is an essential part of final casting consideration and helps determine how performers work together as a full cast.

Final casting decisions are made after this step.

Actors who are officially selected will be scheduled for wardrobe and costume fitting.

This stage may include:

• Full measurement session
• Costume fitting
• Look development
• Hair and makeup consultation, if applicable
• Character styling review

  This process ensures that wardrobe, appearance, and visual presentation are fully aligned with the production before principal photography begins.

• Strong collaboration with cast and crew

  Experience levels may vary by role. Some productions may welcome new talent, while others may require prior acting experience.

• Your headshot is current
• Your résumé is accurate and up to date
• Your self-tape is well lit and clearly audible
• You follow any project-specific instructions listed in the casting notice
• You provide accurate contact information

Incomplete submissions may not be reviewed.

  Union and non-union performers may be considered depending on the project.
